Tama: Three Days from Goodbye to Hope

September 11, 2026•1 min read

Some cases arrive with a sense of urgency. Tama was one of those cases. An 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a history of agility competition, Tama’s owner called extremely upset. The dog had become acutely painful and was having significant difficulty walking. The situation had deteriorated so rapidly that the owner was considering euthanasia if the pain could not be controlled.

A comprehensive examination was performed.

The findings were serious.

Tama demonstrated negative rear-limb proprioception, indicating neurological dysfunction affecting communication between the nervous system and the hind limbs. In addition, the thoracolumbar junction was extremely painful. A chiropractic examination identified multiple areas of dysfunction. Specific adjustments were performed involving the pelvis, atlas, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, and sacrum.

Cold laser therapy was also applied using inflammation settings. Three days later, Tama returned for reevaluation.

The difference was remarkable.

Photographs taken during the follow-up visit documented dramatic improvement in posture, mobility, and overall comfort. The dog that had previously struggled to move was now demonstrating significantly improved function. For Tama’s owner, the change represented far more than improved mobility.

It represented renewed hope.

Cases like Tama remind us that neurological dysfunction can create severe pain and disability, but they also remind us that the nervous system possesses remarkable adaptive abilities. For Tama, restoring function helped restore comfort.

And comfort changed everything.

Healthy nerves. Healthy movement. Healthy animals.
